I remember the good old days living countryside.
Our family was meager but we had each other’s back.
We lived on the farm with our animals and pets.
It is childhood memories, I will never forget.
My sister’s and I loved to play hide and go seek,
With snowball the dog.
For he was the sprinter and,
could outrace us all.
But it was Ann the cat who was most dear to me.
For we use to run and play by the old pecan tree.
We’d often run through the garden of our home grown food.
And dash back to our house to chase the bats upstairs in the roof.
We had Tony the cow, who loved to moo,
And nanny the goat who browsed as she ate her brush,
Life was so simple and care free.
I will never forget the old house down by the lake.
